Default 14 c7 JL Stealth box installed

Hey guys. Just had Ovation who has done most all my vehicles except my boat do my install of the 2 10's JL stealth box, amp, and passport max 360...

sounds PHENOMENAL... HOWEVER. Tell me if this seems right...

when i start the vehicle it takes takes a good 3-4 seconds for the subs to start firing after the radio starts(he said he wired it to the drivers door speaker?) - really hoping I misheard that but it sure has me thinking.

When i use the bass controller it's like it's on or off with VERRRRRRRRY little in the middle... as well he told me to not mess with the bass setting on the radio - just the controller.

Lastly - I have a horrid rattle somewhere in the back - not license plate - any ideas? It almost doesn't even matter how loud or quiet the stereo is. The rattle is there.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

I hope you misheard about the subs being wired to the door speakers. That makes no sense. They should plug into the amp.

I have two remote level controllers on my boat and one in my ZR1. All are variable level not on off.

If the system was tuned then I can understand not messing with the bass settings.

i think the amp was wired to the subs - sorry not the subs... subs to the amp and the amp to the speakers... delay of 3-4 seconds after music starts and bass controller is either max or minimum - no real inbetween. Same setup in my 15 sierra Denali and it acts right. Do we have an output on the head unit?

I have a different HU in my ZR1. The JL amp has separate outputs for the speakers and the sub. Can't imagine any competent audio installer missing that. When I turn on my HU there is a 2-3 second lag before the amp powers up but when it does the speakers and sub come on at the same time. If your subs sound good after they come on I wouldn't worry about it. I would have the installer check the remote level control. Something is wrong if its acting as an on-off switch instead of a level control. It could that the level control switch is bad. Its a $35 accessory so have the installer swap it out and see if that solves the problem.

i guess he was getting the signal from that side. Which makes sense. It tells it to power on. The JL box was rattling and they fixed that also! Sounds awesome now!

I did the 2 10" JL Stealth box and it rocks for sure but a small rattle in the box because it's not all the way reinforced to the floor.
