What do you guys think??

of the combination. Infinity kappa perfect 12.1 with a custom box and JL 500/5 amplifier or JL stealth box with JL 500/5 with some good quality speakers in front and back...haven't decided which ones...just throwing the idea around to get a feel. Keeping the factory HU.

Image Dynamics IDQ12 is a superior sub in both sound quality and SPL. Try that instead :cheers:

Thanks Kale I have read nothing but good reviews about Image dynamics. Do you think the JL 500/5 would be a good amp to drive it????

Anything around 300-500 watts is good for an IDQ12 mho

I agree with Kale the IDQ12 is a very good sub. If you want something a bit more high end, then the IDMAX would be my choice, however, it is more expensive and would require a more expensive amp to push it. It all depends on what you have to spend.

Thank you all for the feed back :) I think it will be JL 500/5 with IDQ12. NOw I need to research for the box to put that baby in. Is there any place one can buy a stealthbox without the JL sub in it??? Also what would be a good replacement for the factory speakers...........

They can be made fairly easily by a sterio shop. I would look at Focal Utopia, A/D/S 3 series, Dynaudio, MB Quart QSD and QM, Boston Acoustics Pro Series and listen to them for yourself for replacements.
