Default Opinions for this stereo set up for my C3 Convertible

First off I'm limited in knowledge of the stereo area and I'm after clean sound that I can hear in my C3 with the top down at speed. My biggest area of concern is the amp being compatible with the Sub and 6x9's. I alread have front speakers in the kick panels. I would like opinions on these components prior to purchasing.
Thanks

For the headunit I'm looking at this:

Pioneer DEH-X7800BHS

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X78...00BHS&skipvs=T

Amp

Pioneer GM-D9605

5-Channel 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-786jl3...-GM-D9605.html

For the box....

(2) 6x9's and (1) 10in sub

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281869526568...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

6x9's

Rockford Fosgate R169X3 : 2-65 watts RMS (130 watts peak power)

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-9NrDSJ...me-R169X3.html

Sub

Pioneer TS-SW2502S4

power range: 100-300 watts RMS (1,200 watts peak power)

deck; you have to ask yourself if you want features or SQ. if it's sound quality it's alpine. the pioneers are the easiest to use decks with the most features but they have a very colored pre out. forced roll off on the highs and an exaggerated midbass

speakers. it would be, if i had to choose just a brand...it's morel

subwoofers, JL audio

amps? JL, zapco, arc, audison. any of those depending on needs and price point

the morel tempo ultra is a really good seller. 6.5 components sell as low as 259. very balanced speaker that plays everything from rock to techno pretty well. very hard to beat for the price.

subwoofer wise. the JL w3 and up are excellent. the w1 can also work but requires a solid 1 cubic foot not to sound boomy in the 10 inch. actually the w3 also works best there. w6 can go a bit smaller down to roughly .75. keep in mind sub specs from most manufacturers are the smallest possible. not always the best sounding

alpine is still using burr brown DAC's and has a dedicated pre out stage. it's a very noticeable difference vs pioneer

a used JL audio 300/4v2 will sell for 200-225
JL w1 sub will be under 100
morel tempo ultra integra co-ax are 199 shipped via buy.com in 6.5" if those would fit in place of the 6x9 with brackets or mount plates

that would be a really nice sounding setup for basically $500. then just choose your deck.

side note, if you use a jl 300/4 to power your system and the front 2 channels go to 4 ohm speakers the sub MUST be 8ohms. i can explain why if need be but it has to do with how the amp is regulated

there are many other amplifiers you could use that are not so picky about balanced impedance loads by the way

I second everything said regarding Alpine and Jl audio. The Morels I am looking to tryout but from what I have heard, they are solid.

After looking at it some more it seems some of the recommendations will not work for this setup.

The JL sub is not a shallow mount, the amp recommended is a 4channel and I think I will need 5 to run everything .

there are plenty of good 5 channel amps

if you want to use a shallow mount JL sub the one you want is the 10tw3

http://www.jlaudio.com/10tw3-d4-car-...-drivers-92184

while you are on their home page take note of the hd 900/5 and xd 700/5 amplifiers. both are 5ch and can be found online considerably under list price

Looking at the box again, the regular depth JL may work even if I have to use a spacer. Thoughts?

Box:

Width: 45 1/2"
Bottom Width: 35"
Depth: 5"
Height: 12"
Airspace: .50 Cu.Ft. Per Chamber
Mounting Depth: 4 3/4"

JL Audio 10W0v3-4:

top-mount depth: 4-15/16"
sealed box volume: 0.65 cubic feet

Good setup and great choices. Pioneer is very underrated these days.
The 9605 is a beast of an amp.

The only thing I would change is the 6x9's.
Go with the TS6900pros for the rear. You will love it.

.5cuft is too small for any of their 10s. most will dig deeper and model much better in roughly .9 cuft. you could however run a pair of 8w3s in .5 cuft each. what you see on the JL site for box site are absolute minimum enclosure volumes and it's been my experience very few actually sound accurate in boxes 7that small. the 10w1v3 and 10w3v3 along with the 10w6v3 i have experimented with and can tell you the best one for say .75-85cuft is the 10w6, the w1 and w3 really do better .9 to 1.0cuft net. smaller boxes make the sub slightly more punchy but your bass response is 50-80hz, there are no real lows

the 8w3v3 on the other hand does excellent in .5cuft and a pair of those would handily outperform a 10w0. in fact one of them damn near can with spl and does with SQ. 8w3v3 is an excellent driver in a smaller car if you use it in the correct enclosure. the 8w3v3 has an ideal alignment of .42cuft, driver displacement is about .05 cuft so .47 gross is basically ideal for a good SQ build. basically 2 8s or 1-10 work in 1cuft of airspace generally speaking

the w0 can work in lower powered systems and sound very good but that box size grows if you want a nice deep sound and smooth rolloff

i also would prefer a normal sub vs a shallow mount. they move much more air and sound better to my ears
