I'll post this in the audio section too so please forgive me, but I would like to get as much exposure as possible.
I want to mount a mini amplifier to my aftermarket Kenwood HU as the stock C6 non-bose amp has no RCA inputs and the speaker level inputs cause a constant hum in the HU.
That said, can folks give me some input on where they mounted an aftermarket amp? The unit I am looking at is a Kenwood KAC-M1804 Compact 4-channel Amplifier. It is rated for wet weather as a lot of folks use them on motorcycles. That said, since the unit is compact (5-1/2"W x 3-9/16"D x 1-5/16"H) I was thinking of either in the engine bay near the firewall, or under one of the seats.
Under the seat.
Liquid nails, a mdf 3/4 board under your carpet, under your seat.
Install the mounting screws thru the amp, thru the carpet, into the board.
Run the wires under the carpet.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Glenn
Not the greatest of the amps to go with
Very under rated for power
I would do the X801 5 channel
Yes its a bit more but gives you more options
MDF behind passenger seat
works great as you have a stock grounding location 8 inches up off the floor as well
Side note
I do have the amp your looking at instock for 90.00 shipped

Ok, I got the amp set up working thanks to Double D! I have the amp connected to the head unit by the RCA inputs, and the amp is connected to the two rear speakers and the small door speakers by the amp's front and rear speaker outputs respectively. Now I have one last question, how can I get sound out of the large door speakers? Can I just pigtail into the wires coming from the amp that is powering the small door speakers, or do I hook up the big speakers to the headunit's front speaker output wires, or??? BTW, it was a non-Bose factory system originally, and the big door speakers are 2 ohm speakers.
Either one of those options will give you sound but they're both bad choices for the larger speakers. You've already added an amp so you shouldn't have any trouble putting in a decent 2-channel amp to run the remaining 2 speakers.
