Default C6 Convertible Audio Upgrade

I am trying to revive the audio thread and get some advice after reading a couple of the other posts.

My vehicle is a 2006 Chevy Corvette Convertible w/ Bose system and stock navigation and I am looking to hear your feedback, suggestions and advice on how to setup my system.

So what I have learned so far from reading this forum:

On to what I was looking to use

        Component speakers :

            or

              Subwoofers

Now this is where it gets tricky has anyone used the JL Audio 10TW3-D4's in a custom box instead of the Stealthbox with the 8W3?

              Amplifier

This depends on the decision about the subs

yout not going to get the 10tw3 into the convertible where the 8's go. not even if you pull the rear speakers as the box will sit to high.
I have tried it and it wont work

I wonder what's the biggest reasonably-sized sub that can fit in a C6 vert? I'm really stumped - I know Vettes are full of compromises in packaging, but this is ridiculous.

Are upgraded door subs even worth the time/money? The Pioneer shallow 10s look okay, but the doors don't make for a good sub box.

Could you get these behind the seats?

Only 5.7" mounting depth, .59 CF sealed box size. The Dayton Ultimax 8" are even smaller on the box sixe, but similar mount depth.

I've thought about putting a box in the trunk, but you lose a significant amount of limited cargo space, and you'd lose output since there's a lot blocking the sound from trunk to cabin. But I'm willing to listen if someone thinks that's better.

There is a reason JL makes the boxes in 8" as its the best option you got to do unless you want to make your own boxes remove the speakr partition and go with a larger 8. there is NO mounting depth at all behind seats with the top down
barely enough for an amp rack ar about 4 inches tall

Sorry - meant can you get those Dayton 10" or 8" (or any sub of similar size) behind the seats with removing the partition.

Really wish I was 20 all over again so I could just whip up a custom fiberglass box without throwing out my back.

So which is better, subs right behind the seat, or the ones that fit in the storage compartments in the trunk?

Thank you for your replies, it saves me from going through a expensive adventure taking out the rear wall and making a custom box.

What are your thoughts of the Kicker Comp RT 8" or should I just stop looking at get the JL Audio preloaded box?

On the head unit, I was looking at either the

Kenwood DX893S or the Alpine INE-W957HD - suggestions?

              Component speakers, three ways?

I have Pioneer Sealed 12 inch drop in sub.... And yes the top will still close down on top of it as long as you dont have it right up against the partition.. Ive heard other's say you cant... And since i dont haul stuff around i also have a HELIX 5 Channel Amp also just laying behind partition..... Works fine.. And with top down or up you cant see either...

Oh... Image Dyna comp's, in doors and all sealed up...
