Was looking at the adapter plates to install a 6.5" component speaker system in to replace the Bose system.

Does anyone have any experience with the plates by Southern Car parts or Nekid car parts (they look to be exactly the same)? Are those the best options?

As far as I know they are all about the same. I am in the process of installing some right now. They seem rigid enough and hold screws well.

They are actually fairly easy to make but if you don't want to mess with that, purchasing the pre made panels are the way to go. There are also plastic versions that are cheap but I would stay away from them.

I have the plastic Metra ones and they aren't bad in terms of rigidity. Probably as good or better than 1/4" MDF. They are not expensive and would make good templates if you change your mind and decide to fabricate your own.
