Default 2 DIN head unit advice request.

Hi all,

Looking to upgrade to a 2 DIN unit. Not looking for all the bells and whistles, the requirements are;

- Navigation
- Bluetooth
- Accepts backup cam
- Will integrate with my Bose system, including the 12 CD changer.

I understand that I'll need the PAC ROEM-VET1 for the change over.

Just looking for some input on which head unit would meet the criteria, without breaking the bank. Thanks.

BTW, I'm eyeing this; http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayI...1&secureDesc=0

Yes? No?

Nothing aftermarket will integrate with the CD changer. No way around it.

I would get the XSVI-2004. That allows you to keep RAP, and you won't need to run a wire down to the passenger footwell. Either one allows you to keep the Bose system.

I would recommend looking at an Android unit. They tend to be much cheaper than most navigation units, and are much more flexible. The latest and greatest ones contain the PX5 chipset with 4gb of RAM. The biggest pro for me is being able to share internet from my phone to the head unit through bluetooth and running Waze directly on the head unit.

If you want to retain more of the stock factory look, get the double din bezel from Vettenuts. Otherwise, functionally the Metra is the same.

You know, you've touched on something there. With the capacity of ipods and whatnot, I think I'll do away with the CD changer. That'll also open up the cubby in the back some more as well.

Check on the XSVI. Check on the Vettenuts bezel. Thought the Vettenuts and Metra bezels were the same. Definitely would prefer something that looks more the part.

Just need to settle on a head unit now. So far, that Soundstream unit seems to fill my requirements.

EDIT: No go on the Vettenuts bezel. $116 for shipping to Canada ain't in the budget.
