Default Thought it was stock....

Greetings!
I just bought my first corvette (94 coupe) and it has the Delco Bose gold stereo with a CD player. The issue that it is having is a loud static that comes from i believe the Left Rear speaker. the static doesn't seem affected by the volume ****, just turning on the power creates loud static....but...sometimes it fades down until it's barely noticeable...i haven't been able to figure out what causes it sometimes to die down. and we also noticed that the antennae doesn't extend, so we thought maybe that is the cause of the static, but it does it when playing a CD as well so i don't think it's antenna related. my thought was that it's probably the speaker amp...
So while going over the car,, i was looking to see if i have a jack and stuff, i found where the receiver is located and i also found this thing...a PAC OEM-1 factory interface thing.... it appears to be wired into the harness, but not plugged into anything? and there's the antenna coax wire as well...not plugged in....so i'm confused as to what i should do with it...the radio seems to play great, sounds good but i don't know what the factory sound system sounds like...i ordered a new GM antenna which is on the way....i was going to try and just unplug the rear speaker and see if the hiss goes away.

Should i leave this in or remove it and get it all back to stock...???

the black coax wire is an antenna connection but it's not plugged into anything

this isn't plugged into anything...

So i played a CD and after 2 songs the static died down to where you can't hear it unless you turn the volume all the way down. I'm thinking it the high frequency part of the amp if there is a thing...the bass seems to be the only thing coming through...So any ideas? if needed can the amp be rebuilt by anybody on the forum? buy a new one? thanks in advance for your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.

My guess would be that the previous owner had an aftermarket stereo installed and used the PAC interface to match up the non-Bose unit to the factory Bose wiring. Then before selling he removed the aftermarket stereo and reinstalled the factory Bose without removing the PAC and didn't return the wiring to stock.

update: i ordered a used replacement Bose speaker from a 93 Coupe from ebay and installed it today and that fixed the hissing issue and restored the higher freqs. my wife says she can hear a very faint sound and describes it as a star trek phaser sound, Set to stun of course! that might be caused by the PAC unit i'm guessing. anyways, it is much better now.
