Installing Kenwood 9704s Sunday. Was dabbling on possible backup camera. I might not and wait a little and add it later. But what is everyone is using. I don' want a license plate holder camera. Is was looking at kenwood cmos 230 just because its Kenwood and HU is Kenwood But 115 bucks. Might seem overkill. Anybody with experience with it. I might just run wire to head unit so I don' have to open up dash later to add it.
actually I'm not against a license plate one after longer thought. I need a new license plate frame anyways. Is there a camera in a frame that really stands out from the other ones?
I have a Pioneer system in mine and I went with two of the Pioneer cameras (one for the front and one for the rear) They're very high quality and have a great picture. I'd suggest you go with the Kenwood camera for the same reasons.

yea im thinking CMOS-130 but not sure how to mount it to the back of the car... any ideas
since the vette has 2 license plate lights on each side.. The Key hatch entry and the button button hatch entry. not sure where I have room to mount it.. so I was eyeballing potentially BOYO VTL275HD. but not sure. I need to see how everybody is mounting these dam things. but ill run a 20ft RCA Video Cable this weekend to get the wiring done so I don't have to remove the console a second time. and then If I ever figure out mounting options I can finish it up

it should hook up to kenwood HU. and I think its a IDDY BITTY smaller than kenwood like a hair.
I don't like the drilling into my z06 also don't like the idea of some heavy double sided tape on my Atomic orange either.. hopefully it wont remove the paint lolol.
how did you mount it? Double sided tape or screwed into the body.
I mounted both of them with the 3M tape that comes with them that's real strong, you just have to wipe the area down with some rubbing alcohol and apply when it's above 50 degs.

I've used the double sided tape for these cameras on a number of vehicles over the years and I've never had any issues with it removing paint.
