R165X3 in c5
Hey guys,
Anyone ever install the Rockford Fosgate R165X3 Prime 6.5-Inch Full-Range 3-Way Coaxial in a C5 vette in the front and rear with the stock deck?
I plan to in the long run get a joying android head unit and amplifier, but for the time being i want to replace the speakers... they are 18 years old
Is it doable?

The R165X3 is a 6.50” 3-way full-range speaker rated at 45 watts RMS for a new generation of factory replacement speakers. Kit includes two speakers with grilles, integrated high-pass crossovers and mounting hardware.

Yes it does. The FRC should be the same as the Z06 and in my Z06 you can install 6.5's in the front with an adapter plate as original speaker is larger than that. The rear locations accept a 5 1/4" with not too deep of mounting depth if memory serves correct. The adapter plates are readily available running $15 to $50 depending on quality.

I guess this would be okay:
So what about wiring now with the stock headunit... if i understand the 'amplifiers' are in the spot where the speakers go that means i wouldnt be able to pull this off with the stock head unit front and rear speaker change using these?

Money is the issue i may be getting an alpina f240 amp for like fifty bux... But i wana keep super cheap for now.. I intend to get a double din and joying intel sofia head unit and usb dac but itll add up fast so i wana at least replace the blown 18 year old speakers
