I'm planning to purchase a dash cam for my C5 to record incidents (wrecks) out on the road for insurance purposes. I've had some close calls (e.g. people cutting across multiple lanes), so I want something to record if/when I get clipped one day.
I'm looking at getting a BlackVue DR590 if 16GB because I just plan to stick it in the car and leave it. I'm not interested in recording a trip or event, I just want it for the moment when I get hit and can save the evidence for insurance/suit. What I can't decide on is between the 1 channel (front only) or 2 channel (front and rear). It nearly doubles the price.
Is there a major advantage to getting the rear option?
I go the lazy route and purchased another Auto-Vox (the cigar-ish shaped one) for the rear (one front, one back). My theory is; if it's their fault, I have it on video. If it's my fault then I'm sorry that my video cam is completely broken...
