What does it mean when...
...your power antenna will extend on its own, but will only retract with help (while the antenna motor is running). It happened all of a sudden.
How hard are these things to repair/replace?

There is a little plastic strip that retracts and extends the electric antenna. It is known to go bad quite often. Sounds like you are a victim of it and will need to replace it. You can find them sold through just about any Corvette catalog like Eckler’s, Mid America, Corvette Central, or Zip. Installing it however, is a PITA! ;)
