I was wondering if anyone has the same issues I am noticing. I live in a large area of Los Angeles, so it is not related to being out in the sticks... On my '13 GS OEM factory Bose system I noticed horrible basic radio reception which quality was spotty at best. I recently had a Kenwood DX9904S installed which comes with HD Radio. This is supposed to be the regular radio stations pulled in through the antenna. I did not expect any upgrade to the quality, but at least I would expect not to be worse... I was wrong! Now I am only getting 3 stations, Spanish mariachi, Korean news, and static. When using the buttons to navigate the stations it automatically skips all stations and wraps around back to the mariachi music. When I manually navigate to a station (95.5 KLOS), I get nothing but static. Are there any known issues of having horrible radio reception with the factory C6 antenna? Is there an upgrade that can/should be done for better reception without a shark fin or other eyesore?
I put a Kenwood 9903 in my C6 using the PAC RP5-GM11 interface adapter. I am down in the OC and have no issues with radio reception. Put the same radio into 2 C5's also with no reception issues. KLOS comes in clear.
There is an antenna adapter needed to connect the smaller GM antenna cable to the standard radio antenna input on the Kenwood. It is possible that who ever installed the radio did not use the adapter and it has come loose hence not receiving any stations.
I just wish that there were some better stations to listen to in So Cal.

This is a likely answer or the installer may not have connected the antenna at all.
I guess Santa Clarita would be considered "the sticks" because the reception in Burbank has KLOS coming in loud and clear. But, once I get to the 5 & 14 Fwy interchange by Sylmar it goes to crap.
I tried station modes on Auto and Manual. Neither one seems to navigate to stations that I know should be there.
Antenna likely not hooked up properly, loose, or at all. Personally, I haven't listened to the radio in almost 20 years. Do radio stations even play music anymore?
