Focals - MB Quart - Not THis Time!

Personally, I think the 6.5" system sounds better out of the two... More detailed.
Why do you want an 8" ?
Getting above a 6.5" usually means getting a 3 way system.

I built a nice enclosure which I mount right behind the seats. (I use the back of it as an amp rack). Anyway, I put the 6.5 inch drivers (MB Quart)in this enclosure which sounds good and some 8" Free Air JL Audio subs in the doors. (They sound phenominal for what they are). I'm thinking of relocating the JL subs but want to replace the 8" openings with another high quality 8" driver. Basically to bring the imaging back to the front. While the system sounds very good - its not quite there yet..A good mid-base driver using the existing MB Quart crossovers (or a new speaker set altogether) should do the trick.....Question is - what exists for choices?
i have the front components crossed at 65hz, as well as the sub.
are you running rear speakers? don't.

definitely check out the dynaudio's before you purchase. I think it would be tough to find a better set, imho, for the price.

A reputable online source for Focal and Image Dynamics is:
www.sounddomain.com
Hope this helps. :seeya
The absolute best for someone who consideres themselves an audiophile.
AND for those who don't! :yesnod:  :smash:
Example, take four different midwoofers reproducing a single drum beat.
mid1: Bwung!
mid2: Bwang!
mid3: Pang!
mid4: Ping!
One person may like the one that goe s "Panga-panga-panga" but another might think that sounds kind of hollow, and preferrs his bass to go "Bwung-uh-Bwung-uh"
One may say that Mid3's Pang is the closest to the real life sound,
But another will say Mid4's Ping is DEFINATELY the real life sound...
So it's almost impossible to say. Ask 100 people, get 100 opinions. Only 1 matters, and it's yours.
