Default Adding remote start to a non-remote start car

Lets start by saying I don't know anything about car alarms or adding remote start. I have an 09 Cadillac CTS. Remote start was a factory option but my car was not purchased with it. I know this is a Corvette forum but the Cadillac forum is well....kinda lame. Can a aftermarket remote start/alarm be added an work on a non-factory remote start vehicle? I would sure enjoy getting into a warm or cool car.

Yes, go talk to someone at one of your local car stereo shops or Best Buy and they can tell you your options.

This, not all cars can be done, my BMW doesn't have it and the shop that did my Camry said they couldn't because of security, wiring something something beyond my intellect.

It's easier on cars that don't have so much computer stuff. I installed a remote system on my '84 Corvette, but I sure did appreciate having the FSM. It was quite a challenge, but it sure is nice!
