Default Question: JL Stealth Box - is it worth it?

I have been thinking about getting the JL stealth box. Does anyone out there have any opinions on this? Currently I have 1 12" JL W3 in a ported box in an Acura CL Type S. Is this stealth box worth the money? Does anyone know where I could get cheaper? Hi Fi Buys here in atlanta wants $500 for it.

Thank you

I've heard it and to me it sounds great for a 10". However, I would do a custom box for a little more $$ and stick with the 12".

My $0.02 :)

Is it possible to do this and keep it flush with the floor? I'd really like to do the 12" but I want it to still be kind of a stealth install.

Anything is possible. Many have done a sealed 12" that is level with the top. You will yield about 1.25 cuft max air space. If you are used to the 12, go for it, but if you are porting it, it may take some time to tune it right in that small of space.

I have a 12" IDMAX mounted in 1.25 ft^3 and it is exactly flush with the hatch floor. I would recommend going with a 12" driver as well. I actually have an older 12" round Kicker solobaric that I am wanting to sell. As long as you could put a minimum of 400W on it, I could sell you that and even fab a box for it if you needed. That driver only needs 0.88 ft^3 to work so it would be very easy to fit into the center well. :yesnod:

ironic - I just finished my box for my old 12" round Solobaric !

I must say, making the box to fit that center well was not the easiest one I've ever done. It has many irregular shapes (like the side walls taper down).

I don't think the Stealthbox is worth 5 bills personally. $300 is realistic.
