Anyone able to squeeze 2 amps on the rear wall of a c5 coupe?
I'd like to have a seperate class d sub amp and a descent 2 channel amp. Wheres another good place to mount an amp in a C5 without building anything custom or making it ugly?
I have my amps mounted behind the seats but I can't give you any pix b/c of the recent forum upgrade. I took 3/4" birch and used some adhesive to adhere it to the car (after all carpeting and sound pad was removed of course). After that, all I had to do was screw the amps into the wood. Worked like a champ.

Re: C5 amp mounting (VFRLuke)
Or you could do a variation of what Mrkln did and build an amp enclosure and mount it back behind the seats in the hatch area between the seats and the targa top mounts. Carpet or vinyl it and have your amps flush mounted in the enclosure, you could also put your crossovers and caps in there too. It would look very nice and no worry of getting water on your amps if you open your hatch after it rains or before drying it after a wash.

Can you email me these pics? (addy is in my profile)
 pics. It's great to see what other people have already done so you can get lots of ideas for yourself. I like what you did with that mat -- gives it a really OEM look.
Depending on the size of the amp, you can mount it under the passenger seat. This is what I did. I have the base seats, and my passenger seat is not electric. There is plenty of height and I've had no problems with overheating. I used velcro strips on the bottom of the amp. The C5 carpet accepts the velcro very nicely. This way, I didn't have to worry about screwing into the gas tank or through the floor. :yesnod:
