Looked around the threads for simple budget speakers to enhance the factory Bose System (I'm not looking to change head units and would like to keep the factory bluetooth setup for calls).
In the past, Polk 3.5" and 5.25" speakers seemed to be the Go-To option, but that was 6+ years ago.
Has anyone done this recently and chosen a decent set of speakers? I just purchased two OEM replacement door subs to rid the rattle and figured I might as well swap the others out while I'm taking on the project.
The 2013 has tweeters in the dash also. go with a 3" midrange and a better tweeter for the dash. passive crossovers for the midrange speaker will also be needed.
I used these mids and tweeters:
For simplicity, going with the proven Polk/Infity/JL/Focal 3.5" full range would do just fine. You can do the rears also, but I would not. you won't gain much. Just put that budget into better speakers upfront and some Dynamat for the doors.
How do you get to those tweeters in the dash? Can I access them from the top?
yes. use a plastic panel remover tool. very easy. The tweeter is secured with epoxy, cut's easily. then secure the new tweeter with epoxy also. splice into the factory wiring and you're all set. pop back in and you won't be able to see anything changed from the top.
