Hey gang--
I have been thinking about ditching the fender-mounted antenna on my '78 and glassing over th hole for a clean look. Does anyone know of an antenna I can mount inside of the car so that I can still receive AM/FM signals? I have seen internal antennas on cars such as the new Eclipse, but I was wondering if anyone did something similar for the aftermarket crowd. I am already assembling pieces for a decent stereo, now I am just looking for cosmetics. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed. TIA,
Re: Internal or alternative antenna choices for C3? (Last Ride)
An antenna is a simple device. Many will work. Note the ground plane on your Vette. You might want to say what the design of the one you are refering to is.
Good idea.
Did mine many years ago. Pulled the stock antenna & installed a basically unnoticable one.

I dumped the external antenna and used the rear window defroster wire. Disconnect the power wire and remove ground power to the rear window defroster. Then check for isolation (no continuity of the defroster wires) and solder antenna-center wire to defrost and the antenna-ground to the metal frame (close by). It is the best unobtrusive antenna you can get... for a summer car.
