New audio for an '02 C5 convertable...suggestions please.
I am considering a new system for my C5. I was wondering if members could suggest a kick-butt system for a convertible. $ range is $5000.00. Thanks for all your help.

tattooed has a decent jl/rockford/bbe/alpine system in his '99 vert, there are some others around but for that price range his is a decent comparable look.

First, you need to decide if you what you want:
MP3
DVD
Pop-up Screen
XM or Sirrus Sattelite radio
Time Correction (Very Helpfull on imaging)
I would reccomend:
Head Units (Non Multimedia):
Pioneer Premiere
Alpine
Head Units (Multimedia):
Clarion
Alpine
Kenwood
Amplifiers (In order of my preff):
McIntosh
Phoenix Gold
Alpine
Rockford Fosgate
Component Sets:
DynaAudio (simply the best IMHO)
Boston Accoustic Pro
Focals
Subs: (Do a single 12" in the rear at 1000 watts on a class D amp)
JL Audio
Phoenix Gold Tantrum
Eclpise
Your best bet is to detail exatly what you want. $5k can land you into a competition level non-multimedia setup. $5k can put you into an above average multimedia install.
Also keep in mind that all the new gear for next year is announced January 8th.. It might be worth waiting for.
