Default Headunit Rec

Konnichiwa from Japan!

While my C3 is unfortunately sitting soundly in storage back in the states, I just bought myself a little Mitsubishi mini Pajero to get around while stationed here. It currently has an ancient single din head unit with only radio (and the radio here is horrible) then a separate ancient navigation pop out unit that is also single din but in a separate place. It has been years (if not a decade) since I have bought an aftermarket head unit so I was hoping to get some suggestions. I think I can move the a/c controls to make room for a double din if I choose. But am looking for recommendations of a head unit that I can pair my phone to for audio, calls, and navigation. (I have an android phone) The speakers in the car are basic so i don't need any crazy sound output or subwoofer. I have my FPO box so i should be able to have just about anything online shipped here.

Thanks!

Thanks for your service🇺🇸
since it’s just a ride to bide your time while stationed there I wouldn’t go crazy with a DD or anything. I would think a unit which you could pair Sirius to would be paramount. Check crutchfields site for head units which are inexpensive with the features you want and while you’re at it speak to one their tech guys, they are willing to help customers with particular issues

I'd be content with the unit just repeating google maps from my phone.

If you want to listen to local AM/FM you will need a Japanese spec unit, the freqs are different than the US.

Nothing good on the radio stations...But yes they are a much lower frequency.
