A while back I installed an aftermarket head unit in my '91 ZR-1 using a Bose bypass harness. Everything worked well for a while, then it stopped working. The HU lights up, has power, appears to be functioning etc. but no sound. I've also noticed that the radio antenna no longer comes up (I never listen to it, so it was always more of an annoyance than anything!). I seem to remember reading somewhere that if the antenna doesn't rise, the speakers don't get switched on or something-though maybe I read it wrong.
Is that actually the case? And if so, what's the easiest way of getting my sound working?
Thanks
1. check fuses
2. check amp turn on relay
3. check to make sure the radio is still sending the turn on signal for amps and antenna
Did the antenna stop working at the same time the sound stopped?
Thanks, Vince. I'm not sure if I noticed the antenna at exactly the same time, but it was certainly close. I'll try figure out how to check the things you mention. I don't have much experience with this stuff. I'm not running a separate amp, just straight from the head to the Bose speakers/amps.
