Speaker box ????
Any ideas on a box for an '87 vette? I have 2- rockford fosgate 12's that need 1.5 cubic feet of air space the problem is I still want to rempve my top and need space for it in the back above the box. Any ideas would be great.

damn... thats a LOT of bass for such a small area.
that much box is going to suck up your entire hatch!!!!!!
you will need at least 6" inside height, so.. to reach 1.5cf... hmmm... huge...
26 x 14 x 7 inside dimensions, per box. the material is .75" MDF. this is a big box... and its only getting bigger.
you might be able to adjust the numbers a bit.
for reference, a single cubic foot is 1728 cubic inches. you work back from there... 1728 * 1.5 = 2592. 2592/7 = 370. 370/14 = 26 (or near enough).

You can do it but the enclosure will encroach over the storage compartments possibly loosing the use of them unless you lift that end of the box up to access them, but that will be a large and heavy box. However, you will be able to put the targa top in its stock mount. In fact, you can build up to a 2.5 ft^3 box and still be able to both use the storage compartments and fit the targa in its mounts. That extra 1/2 ft^3 you need will have to spread out over the storage compartments to be able to use the targa mounts.

I have already removed the storage compartments so encroaching on them is not an issue. Thanks for the input I'll hit it again this weekend and see what I come up with.
