Default Novice speaker question

I have a 69 coupe. Not a lot of options for speakers. I am thinking of swapping the dash pad for a later year so that I can put some 4x8s in the dash. Can I put 4x8 in the dash and also put 4x10s in the kick panels as well as a speaker bar or some speaker boxes in the rear and ad a sub in the jack storage compartment? that would be 6 speakers plus a sub. What would I need other than the speakers and head unit? Amp? Crossover? I'm not too up on audio components.

Online sources show 4x6 speakers for the dash and kick panels. 6x9 for the rear. A high powered headunit is recommended. Adding a separate amp and sub depends on how loud and accurate you want it to sound. For just the 6 speakers, a 4 channel amo will be fine. If you add a sub, I suggest going with a 5 channel amp.

Default Radio restoration

I have restored 4 corvette radios and once done they aren’t that bad but on that good either.
the whistle you hear is that with the engine running or not?
your amp transistor that lives on the heat sink under the dash is fairly robust but 4 ohm speakers is a way to low in impedance. As others stated 8 ohm will be close enough but it is designed for a 10ohm speaker
