Hey guys, I was thinking about upgrading the stock stereo system with a slightly better one in my '03 Z. Any recommendations on setup, subs, tweeters, amps? Any Pics? Thanks for the help!
There are so many options that it's difficult to answer your question. There are lots of different factors to consider, like cost, the type of music you listen to, how much power you'll be wanting/needing, one sub or two and how much room you're expecting to have when you're finished, whether or not you prefer audio purism, or want video or picture making screen thingies. Personally, I nearly ALWAYS start off with a ballpark price figure- otherwise it can get completely out of hand- leaving you without enough cash to replace your tires or barke pads! -J
From: Frankenstein never scared me. Marsupials do, because they're fassst…and they DART, THAT'S crazy!

Re: Audio Help (satyr7777)
:iagree: Well, to start with you will want an Alpine HU. :D
Now as to what model Alpine and what other components you want in the car, you will need to give us a price range and your preference in music, i.e. do you like it loud and thumping or clear and thumping? Also, do you want video display as well? ;)
I would like for cost to be at or less than 2000
Music preference - alternative, rock
Video - maybe add it on later
I want it to sound clear and thumping
As for space, I was thinking about putting it into the middle compartment
I'd go with a set of seperates up front, and a small sealed sub. As far as HU's go- get something you can work WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT!
Your HU is probably the most important component because of the effect that amplification has on noise, so don't be too stingy- and before you look at the pretty displays and the bells and BS- make sure you're buying more than a light show. Check your specs and get something with a good s/n ratio, and good response figures- THD means nothing though. Good Luck!
