Starting over with a new build
I like alot of bass, but at the same time I want to be sure my car can handle the audio system. Long story short I have had to replace 4 batteries and 3 alternators all within 3 years.
I plan on buying the OEM bose speakers with the tweeters and subwoofers all over again. The reason for this is I need a mounting bracket to replace both the bose subwoofer and the 3.5" tweeter inside the doors themselves just so that they can run off of the factory bose amp in the doors. I realize that I will probably have to put the headunit back to stock all over again. You see the car always ran fine with the factory bose audio system, but with a kenwood 9106D and a Pioneer 6800BT I have experienced nothing, but problems. 4 batteries and 3 alternators later its still happening. The car is in the shop often for charge system faults or low voltage repairs.
I never had any issues like this with a 8" bazooka tube installed on the oem setup. It only start happening on the newer setup.
Anyone who can help me build a new system from the ground up that would work would be greatly appreciated. I like deep bass and I mostly listen to rap and rock, but for some reason I experience power issues with my current setup. If I take the amp power wire totally out of the loop their is zero "zero" issues. It stays between 13.9v - 14.2v constant while driving. No voltage loss whatsoever and no charge system fault errors. The second I reconnect the amp power wire 14.2v down to 12.48v even with the amp turned all of the way down.
The car audio shop who built the audio system in this car put MDF in the door panels for my 6.5" speakers and this is the result. The windows don't properly seal to the gaskets, because of this. So water runs right inside the door which causes the door panel to short out times.Next look at the wire by the door gasket. Its running outside the door itself. This was a professional install. I need to know where I can buy brackets to fix this ASAP. I don't like the fact my windows don't seal due to the MDF expanding and pushing the door panel out.
I need to know the max mounting depth of the 6.5" speaks a corvette will take in the doors with the aftermarket speaker plates.
Due to the fact that the installer used MDF alot of water has gotten inside the door. The speaker screws themselves are rusted, because the windows were not properly sealed, due to the overside brackets which pushed the door panel out from the glass. When I say it might be time go all back to factory again I am not joking, just look at the issues from a bad install. Is it even worth trying to fix this issue or is it better to just make everything stock once again. I've had to put thousands of dollars into alternators and batteries just to keep the car running due to the voltage short in the door panel.
