So on some of the FAQ threads, they are really old and links are dead to some pictures and my Crutchfield master sheet appears to be for a non Bose set up. Anyway....
I have a 2005 3LT Bose system. I've bought replacement speakers for the doors. The right door panel tweeter has Green and Orange wire I know that is positive and negative, but the lower Mid range speaker has the light blue, dark blue, white, white/black, and red/black wires. Those colors are only listed for the Left side in the install guide for some reason. Anyway. Should I connect my Mid-range speaker to the same line as my tweeter ( the guide seems to show this) or should I run it off of the wires that the Bose speaker was connected to. (dark and light blue) and what is the purpose of the Antenna signal wire?
OK i see now why the rear is mono, its only ONE channel output and those two speakers are simply bridged together. But what about the power output of the individual channels like the upper door and lower door. Why do they even have this amp if the lower door speakers have their own amp built into them.
I've been trying to research all this stuff over the last two weeks. I guess I am going to ditch the Bose amp and get a new amp but I want to get a small one to put in the place of the old Bose amp, I saw in the FAQ that someone did it and making the bracket looks easy enough but I need to know what exactly I need my new amp to do! Should I run 2 channel and LPF and HPF the door speakers? I am so curious about even needing the amp, other cars I have owned and done sound systems for I just had wires going directly from the head unit to the speakers and it sounded good, didnt need an amp. Why do I need an AMP if I am not going to run a subwoofer in the rear? ( have 6.5 in component speaks to put in the front to replaced the amped Bose 10 inch)
