Tracking system?
Anyone every build their own tracking system that could maybe offer some suggestions? Or know of a pre-made one that doesn't have a monthly cellular service fee?
I've got a pretty good working model of a tracking system that ties together a salvaged GPS antenna and a portable HAM handset to transmit GPS coords over HAM...Nice thing is, there's coverage nearly everywhere...downside is, I don't actually have my HAM license just yet (it's a lack of execution, not a lack of knowledge), so I can't use it without supervision of a licensed HAM operator.
But before going thru the trouble to test & whatnot, I thought it couldn't hurt to check on pre-existing products. :)
