I purchased a JL 250/1 mono amp. Which sub should use out of the following: JL 10w3v2-d2, 10w3v2-d4, 10w3v2-d6. These are all 300w subs, I just don't understand the dual voice coil configurations. I think I need a 4 ohm sub for this amp.
Can the d2 subwoofer be wired by me for 4 ohm mono or do I have to purchase it that way?
For a dual voice coil sub, you can either wire the sub in series, which doubles the impedance, or in parallel, which halves the impedance. So, a dual 4-ohm voice coil can either be wired in series at 8 ohms or in parallel at 2 ohms. You want the JL 10w3v2-d2. This has a dual 2-ohm voice coil that you can wire in series to get 4 ohms. The -d4 and -d6 models are the same sub, just with different voice coil impedances.
The JL Audio Stealthbox for the C5 is equipped with the 10W3v2-D2 Sub. That being said, it should work fine. They recommend the pair as a great amp/sub combo.

:iagree: The sub will sound cleaner at 4 ohm than 2 ohm. Go with the dual 2 ohm wired for 4 ohm impedance.
