USB Connection in Kenwood Head Unit

USB Connection in Kenwood Head Unit
I have a 2008 convertible with an Kenwood DDX374BT replacement head unit. A few weeks ago I was in a rental car that had a USB port on the display. Mt buddy connected his cell phone to the display and lo and behold he could get WAZE to play through the display. There are two USB connections at the back of the DDX374BT. Is it worth the effort to connect a USB line to the back of the HU and run the cord through the glove compartment? The Kenwood unit is five years old.

that unit doesn't appear to have android auto or apple carplay so I don't think you'll be able to get Waze. But look at the link to see what you can do with your radio
