What would be a recommended amp around the $250 or so range, I was looking for a four channel amp to drive front components and a single 10" sub, somewhere around 50-90w per channel. The 3 amps I have been considering are:
Rockford Fosgate Power550x
Hifonics Zeus Z6400
Soundstream Picasso Pic640
Would any of these be a good choice for my install or is there something better out there for this price?
about a year ago I bought a Sony 5 channel amp for around $190 from Ikes.
I think it's about 40 or 50 watts x 4 and 1 x 160. I'm not an audiophile, but I think it sounds great! I went with Polk mains and an Infinity 10" sub all somewhat power matched to the amp. It'll go WAAAAAY louder than I want without over driving the amp
it's hard to go wrong with fosgate but if you watch ebay close you'll find phoenix gold zx450's sell for under $300 in mint condition. incredible sound quality and they will run any load you throw at them.
I'd looked at the 700x but it might be just a little big to big (physical size) for what I was planning, I was going to try and built a box for the back of the C4 with a single 10" on one side and the amp on the other. No real rush on this, headunit won't be available 'till Feb and the salt won't be off the roads until March at the soonest.

I work on stereos all the time and I recommend the Soundstream Picasso Pic640. Soundstream rates there amps low for comp. use. So that would be the best bang for your buck. Hope this helps. Lee :seeya :steering:
you bought one nasty amp, the zx450 can power a sub and a pair of fronts with ease. you probably could load up 4 mids on the front channels running it at 2ohms and a 4ohm sub mono for a 2ohm load on the rear. you could run 2 ohms mono on the rear with this amp but it might overheat if you keep the volume up for extended periods. load the sucker up, it will run 1-2ohms at full blast for hours. good choice bro !!
