JBL amps any good?
everyone is hyped abuot the new Edesign nine.1 amp (1250 rms) and it can be pre-ordered for $250
I'm going to get one of those eventually and hook it to an Edesign E12A. Mmm. Spl.
I don't really like the sound of the JBL's. muddy.
it takes more than power to make sound...
Ebay has a few of them listed, but you never know what you are going to get sometimes. You do not need a super high quality amp to run a sub, just good clean power.

Do you have any trouble with dimming headlights? Are you running this amp with a cap?
Where in the heck are you going to put 3 JL's in the back of your C5???

Yes, when I really crank it up the lights will dim when the base hits. I used 4ga. high-strand power & ground wires and I plan on installing a 1fd cap next to the amp to take care of it though. At normal or above normal volume its fine though.

I've got an MTX 6500D 800 watt amp running them now. The amp is mounted under the passenger seat and doesn't even break a sweat at 1.3 ohms. I just wanted to give the subs a little more juice to bring out their full potential. If I didn't spend so much money on car stereo stuff, I'd have enough to buy a digital camera and take pics of my intall
I ordered the JBL 1200.1 today at ikesound.com for $275 shipped. I, too, am running 4 gauge wire and have a .5 farad cap. When I ran that MTX w/out the cap, I coudn't see at night because the headlights dimmed so much. It made a huge difference, they don't even flicker now.
I picked up an Alpine 7893 while I was at it. :nono: I do not have mod fever.
