USB switch
Found a usb switch 2 in /1 out or 1 in /2 out.
I want to connect my iPhone and usb music stick to my Alpine hu.
The switch I found has a manual button to switch the input.
Anyone tried one of these? Any recommendations?

The Alpine ilx-W650 that you say you have only supports USB 2.0. The Switcher you picture is a USB 3.0 device. While the switcher is backwards compatible, the head unit may not work with it. In a quick look through the user manual, Alpine also does not guarantee that the head unit will work with any USB memory sticks nor that it will work if the memory stick is not directly connected to the head unit (not through another device like this switcher).
The switcher unit needs to draw power from the USB connection to function. The ILX-W650 can supply 1.0A via the USB port, so depending on how much power the memory stick/iPhone/switcher combination draws, it may or may not work. Best I can suggest is to try it and see.

USB Switch Works
Ok. Got the switch and installed it.
Have a USB stick with music and my Iphone hooked up to it.
Output feeds my Alpine ilx 650.
Works great. Push the button to toggle between Apple Car Play and my USB Music stick.
