I got about 300rms watts to throw at one sub. I like to listen to rap, alternative, and rock. Any recommendations and or personal preferences. Right now I'm leaning towards the ID12 v.3. Perfect wattage, small enclosure, and great SQ. BTW..anyone got this new sub? How do you like it? And what size box should I use with each of these subs?
And another thought...I stumbled upon a NEW Boston Pro 12.5 on ebay..thought I'd let some of my fellowship know there's NO RESERVE on this sub, starting at $100, ending in 5 days...I can't use it, can you??
You telling me I shouldn't go for an ED or what?
I know subs shouldn't be underpowered..but would 100w be not enough?
I am thinking about getting an amp that puts out a little more...maybe 450 or so rms, could I make do with my current amp until I upgrade (summer), or is it just not a good idea.
ED seems to have some VERY reasonable prices for that K series...I dropped my mouth when I saw those numbers...they would probably be a bit better than my ID12v.3 thought? AM I RIGHT?
Anywhere else I can find an ED12K2 cheaper (with the warranty)...just a thought....more money in the pocket is always something to smile about. Especially when you are a college student.
I'm trying to stay around the 100-125 price range, so if ANYONE knows of anything else out there I don't know about as far as brands/prices etc., LEMME KNOW!?!?!?!
edesignaudio.com is the best place to find them,
you wont get good volume out of a good sub with 100 watts.
the k series are the "bees knees" on car audio forums right now... everyone hypes them up for their loudness sound quality.
for <$150 there is no choice other than ED I think...
*EDIT* i see what yuo mean
underpowered by 100 watts, thats not bad
I doubt 300 and 400 watts woudl be much of a noticable difference between the two on that sub.
hell, underpower it with two watts, so long as you DONT clip the signal!
Subs blow from thermal overload, and physical damage. Underpowering it wont cause physical damage... and i doubt youll overheat the sucker with 300 watts. Just dont run it free air...
