Hello, I have a Alpine 7894 HU I would like to hook up to the stock bose speakers. I will be adding a amp to drive a sub which will not be a problem. But my question is what type of adapter if any, do I need to tap into the bose system since the front speakers are powered? Thanks in advance

there are some adaptors available, but I don't think they convert to speaker level, just from the head to line level.
someone correct me here.
The Bose amps are very unique... in the earlier ones, and I suspect the basic concept is the same, they run at a very low impedence, like 1 ohm or so, and use a propriatary line level to send the signal.
its both neato, and annoying, all at the same time.
personally, bose speakers themselves are not very good. The cones are untreated paper, the surrounds don't last. ick. the amps are noted for problems, too. I don't know how the C5 amps are holding up.
the way the bose makes sound is via neat porting tricks.
so replace them. you will thank yourself later!
