Hey all, previous owner of my car put 3 ohm coaxial twiddlers and 4 ohm 6.5" in the door panels, wired in parallel. The twiddlers definitely have more "presence" than the 6.5" speakers because of the slight difference in resistance. I've tuned some of it out with EQ, but I'm wondering if I can throw a 1 ohm, 100W resistor on the positive leg of the twiddlers to balance out the sound. What do the experts think? It isn't bad enough to swap the speakers out.
1 ohm probably won't make that much of a difference. You probably want to try something higher 6 ohm or so... but still not that much of a difference for "presence"
you can also try blocking some of the sound with some material like a thin foam/ sponge. This is one of the reasons I like bi-amping my did speakers, I can tune them differently. OR Adjustable Resistor
