I saw the article about adding the motion sensor to the factory alarm, has anyone attemted to add a siren to the factory alarm? Specifically in my last vette I had to piezo sirens mounted in the cabin, so that the perp would go deaf, with an additional horn outside..
Any ideas? Is there a wire that goes hot or ground when the alarm trips? And only when the alarm trips?
I used this write up to add a motion sensor to trip the factory alarm when it is armed. I would suggest getting a volt meter and test each wire on the alarm plug described until you find the one that gives you 12 volts when the alarm is tripped.
I have also added a phoney flashing LED that I found on eBay. It is called Simularm and can be had for about $5. It has 3 wires that hook up to power, ground, and switched 12 volts. When the ignition is OFF, it flashes and it stops flashing when the ignition is on or the car is running. Very
I am interested in that too. By the way, I bought the perimeter sensor and there is a blue wire going to the # 9 location in my 02 vert. Any body know what that is? I am assuming it might be a hood sensor. I have the console out and the radio bezel right now for a head unit install and will put the motion detector right behind the shifter. :flag
