A few years ago, I bought some new door speakers from Crutchfield after getting some advice from their tech guy. I don't remember the conversation, just that I went with their recommendations. This stuff has been sitting in my garage ever since, and I finally decided to replace them, as well as install an amp and the head unit.
They sent me 8" for the large speakers (Kicker CompR 43CWR84, and 2 3/4" for the small (Kicker KSC270). Removed the door panel and...they aren't the same size as OEM. I guess bottom line is - will these fit? If so, how? If they won't fit, what should I get that will fit?
I'm sure I'll have other questions throughout the install. TIA
They will fit with the right mounting plate. A 3/4" plate should work. Something like this, but of course, made for your speakers.
you'll have to trim a corner of the fiberglass.
I hope your amp has the proper crossovers and is stable at the logs it will have.

Are these mounting plates available to purchase, or would I need to make them? Asking because I'd rather not spend a ton of time on it.
