ALPINE or PIONEER??
If you're doing just a HU, my choice would be in this order:
Kenwood KVT-911DVD, then the Panasonic CQ-VAD7200U, then the Pioneer, then the Alpine.
Kenwood has always had the best fold-outs since the release of the p-907. It has the best GUI (Pioneer and Clarion tie for 2nd), lots of flexibility, and does everything you could want minus play MP3 encoded cds, but there are easy solutions to that. The Panasonic does everything the Kenwood does minus the touchscreen GUI but it plays MP3 encoded cds and you can even take screen shots of movies. The Pioneer has an awesome virtual theatre GUI. And the Alpine doesnt seem to have anything exceptional about it.
Oh well, thats my opinion. Most seem to agree since the KVT910/911 seems to be the most popular tv in show cars.
here's a pic of my old 910dvd: http://www.nightmare.cc/tv.jpg
