Default Pyramid Tweeter Review. Well...

Well... I put the Pyramid tweets in. Used some mounting tape to put them right next to the CDT tweets, and ran them to the CDT crossover. (Disconnecting the cdt tweets, obviously)

The CDT xover is 5000hz, and the amplifier is an ARC2100, which produces over 100 watts per channel.

I popped in the first CD, which is the CD i always use to listen to tweeters,
Mission Impossible II soundtrack: 16. Nyah - Hans Zimmer
It's instrumental....

It picked up the detail almost as well as the CDT's tweets. In fact, I doubt the average listener could tell the difference. They were more laid back than the CDT's tweets... I hate to say it, but almost like Dyn tweets in this regard!

Well, this song can make any tweet look good. So it's time to bring out the female vocals.

Therion - Seawinds>
Very, very smooth. They blended perfectly with the CDT mids. No complaints.
Therion - Muspelheim > This song has a lot of opera-style singing in it. I expected the singers voice to ring, and generally sound bad - it didn't. It sounded great!

Alright, so they are good at female vocals. Male vocals? Metallica, sounded good... but being that they are crossed over at 5000hz, they are only playing bits and pieces of it.

Alright, so this is all well and good, they sound good so far, I'm surprisedto say the least... But SURELY Static-X will bring out the nasty pyramid harshness!

Static X- Push it - Not harsh at -all-. Very smooth and layed back, again. I can easily tell they aren't as loud with the power as the CDT tweets. It made the song sound much warmer.

Static X- Love Dump - Cranked it... full volume.. No hissing whatsoever. Very smooth and transparant. I noticed a slight lack of detail compared to the CDT tweets, but overall, still very detailed.

Alright, time to bring out the BIG GUNS - Bodies, by Drowning Pool.
Put it in, Cranked it...... NO SIBILANCE. I was expecting a nice hssssssssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhshhh hhhhhhhhhh, but nothing... they played flawlessly! Even the CDT silk domes hiss a SLIGHT bit. Nothing here.

I played some various other music, anime sound tracks, celtic music, techno... And they all sounded great. I'm shocked to say the least. For $20 and a little time to cut away the crap in front of the tweeters dome, you have some seriously nice tweeters. Just don' tell anyone they're pyramid until after they compliment the sound.

I highly suggest you try a set for yourself!

There is a plastic bridge in the grill, it covers the front of the tweeter. Just remove it.

I'm keeping the cdt set in the truck, but I put the tweets in teh vette. Unfortunately, head unit power does nothing for these tweeters.

Some d00d on a car audio forum mentioned it, and he heard of it from partsepxress.
