Default radio bezel gap

New headunit, used the Metra 95-3304 faceplate from crutchfield. When I reinstalled the center console, the factory clips that go into the faceplate bezel wont reach. Its like the bezel doesnt stick out enough for the clips to be inserted. Not sure if going with scosche GM1595B or PAC GMK382 faceplate would solve this issue. When I searched, it seems the metra faceplates have some fitment issues.

I used the Metra bezel on mine with no issues, but I recall seeing where others have had issues withe theirs, and they ended up trying other ones like you mentioned that seemed to work, I suggest you give one of the other ones a try, or try sanding down the Metra in the areas you’re having issues with, and see if you can get it to fit properly.

When I had mine, I remember having the issue and flipping around the faceplate resolved it. But it's been many years and I'm older, so I could be thinking of a different car.

dude, you read my mind. I looked at the old head unit with metra face plate and theres these "nubs" on the backside that would probably push the faceplate out far enough. Made me wonder if I installed it upside down, causing the gap at the top. Looks like you could easily install it the wrong way and it would still bolt up. Unfortunately I just had rotator cuff surgery, so its going to be 6 weeks in a sling before I have two hands to take it apart and find out.

When I installed mine the faceplate bezel wouldn’t allow the center trim piece didn’t fit flush. It looked a little worse than your picture. What I wound up doing was notch the faceplate bezel on the bottom corners. It did the job. It allowed the center trim piece to fit flush.I did purchase the radio (Kenwwod)and install kit from Crutchfield.

No, you have it right, the rounded corners go on the top, the squared corners go on the bottom.
