Hey , Has anyone replaced the factory bose amp with an aftermarket amp and speakers ? Just put in a nice Kenwood Head and it now sounds not as good as factory system did. I messed around with eq etc and it cleaned it up a bit. I have the 3 LT in an 07 , with what I believe is the higher end radio, amp set up. U75 is the RPO which dont seem to coincide with what ive read up on. Not looking for base box etc . Just clean sound at elevated levels at times when it's just me driving. Don't want to bring to a shop because honestly , even some good ones do hack work which I am capable of that myself. Been at this 40 years just don't do for a living anymore. . Does anyone mode factory amps so I can keep as much factory wiring as possible? Thanks!! Anthony
Sorry for the delay. I don't want to go overboard , I would like to use factory wiring etc. Don't want to cut wiring either. I can do up a 70 Chevelle with a great system but this isn't the car to do that for me. The lack of room for amps etc and the finicky electrical system keeps me at bay. It seems like the convertor that connects the speaker wiring into the factory amps is overdriving the amp( to high input voltage from radio) and it also sounds like it has a reverb/ slight echo and midst and highs are muted. Like you are playing thru a super woofer with 80% of sound signal. I'm sure it's just the compatibility of the deck to the car and the system that connects the 2. No adjustments in audio can really stop it and all speakers are still working.

Which interface did you use? Many have had good experience with just replacing the radio as long as the right interface is used and connected correctly.
I just replaced the head unit on mine and left everything else and I got a huge boost in sound quality and volume. I was not expecting that much of a difference.
Hey all,
The Scosche GM2000SWF is the interface I used. The Radio is a Kenwood DNR476S.
I drove car the other day, It sounds as if the woofers have all the signal going through them. All factory speakers are working, just has that muddy deep sound overpower all the midst and highs. All wiring is correctly soldered, neg and pos all correct. When stereo is at 1/3 volume it is loud. I play xm from phone via Bluetooth. Regular radio sounds the same. Adjusted EQ and still sounds off. The factory radio sounded really good but was obviously outdated and no navigation.
I will just highlight that the KnightDriveTV MaxDin is fully Bose compatible and requires no jumper harnesses or extra parts of any kind. It is also forward compatible with the gauge cluster in development. The MaxDin is a pricey unit, but it replaces all the HVAC also, expands on a lot of functionality, plus will connect to future interior upgrades ahead.
Hi,
. I really like your unit, but right now it's a bit steep. My car isnt going anywhere and I would definitely do it but thats probably not until the end of this year. A question I do have is as you improve this radios functions are older radios you sell upgradable ?

what do you think of it so far? Pros/cons… functionality?
Ok, after messing around I discovered once radio gets toothed 13/15 volume it sounds normal. I usually have it pretty loud anyway but since it's a new to me car i just want to get used to it's sounds and quirks if any. Thanks for any input
