Today I finally started replacing my 20yr old JVC single din. I got a good deal on a DD bezel and a Kenwood double din radio so I decided to dive in. I can already say the sound is a huge improvment! For some reason the JVC sub pre-outs were holding them back, because the 2 8"s I have are hitting a LOT harder now (pre-out to dedicated amp...no change in amp). HOWEVER, i may have miscalculated some things. First, I dont know what i need to mount the DD! Ive been looking on amazon and ordered what i think will do it, but the double din bezel kits seem to come with some extra parts that i cant find seperately.
Second, and more importantly, My old sirius receiver doesnt connect to the kenwood (Why arent these standard plugs!?). Is there an adaptor? Or do i need a new SXM tuner. Ive been getting SXM free on this one, so im hesitant to let it go! Its a kenwood DDX6705s if that helps.
Yeah, was hoping there was an adapter for them. Seems crazy that the same tuner couldnt be made to talk to a different HU, forcing you into a new tuner if you change HU brands. Guess my free ride is over. Annoying.

I installed a similar unit. There should be some plastic L tabs to mount to the frame. They are universal and have some adjustment up/down and fore/aft. My bezel also came with a template to drill for the HVAC relocation. (shown here)

I dint have that bracket (plastic X or hour glass looking thing). I have a bezel coming, second hand. Starting to think that was a mistake.

what is that bracket for? It doesn't look like anything mounts to it?
