I just took a big bite and ordered the Knightdriver Max-Din Unit for my 2013 C6 4LT to be shipped starting the week of July 1, 2025. I will be installing it myself since I watched all the videos and it looks fairly easy.....plug and play!
Hi Vette-Kid: I must have watched Damien's videos about 10 times, I'm 77 years old......lol, to me the wiring of the Max-Din unit is complicated. The original video was for units received before 2025 and not for the current units I received mine two weeks ago. After a phone conversation with Damien he said that there were updates on the new unit mainly C6's with Bose as I was missing the red box and the harness for Bose.
A new video was published for the new units and finally wired the Max-Din correctly.......hopefully! There were also issues with wiring the rear camera as it explained to wire the red wire to the green wire and the black wire to the rear back up lights.....LOL..... there were two green wires, one light and one dark green and one skinny black wire and one thick wire! I have a 2013 4Lt C6 if that mattered on wiring. After almost spending 4 hours to install the rear camera going back and forth to my computer I finally got my answer from someone one this forum to use the light green wire and the skinny black wire to power the rear camera when in reverse. I have not installed the front camera as this time as I am waiting for a cooler day here in NJ.
I will try to install the Max-Din once I installed the front camera. Hopefully that will go smoother. This system is very advanced and complicated as the instructions are not very clear for an amateur! There were no instruction booklets on the install and you have to rely on videos. I am very mechanically inclined and educated if that matters......LOL!
Thanks,
Frank
