Alpine deck and amp ,, Subwoofer adjustments

Alpine deck and amp ,, Subwoofer adjustments
refresh my memory guys.
I reinstalled my Alpine INE-W960HDMI head unit back in my 2005 C6. Which is hooked up to a Older But good sounding Boston GT-42 amp.... So i wanted to take the load off the amp as i was using rear channel bridged to power my down firing 12 inch sub. So yesterday i hooked up a Alpine S-A60M mono amp to power the sub....
My question is, At head unit there is sub Level adjustment,, and on the Amp there is Bass E.Q. So are these two adjustments one in the same. I'm assuming the Level adjustment on head unit is different than the Bass E.Q. at amp..
Alpine manuals are very lacking on info using the controls and settings.
