I chose to try the stubby and I like it. I thought it would stick out like a sore thumb, and maybe it would at an all Corvette car show, but it's actually quite unobtrusive. I've attached a few pics, including one with the old mast attached to it for a size comparison. I live 50 miles from Baltimore and with the car in the garage with the door closed, all my Baltimore radio stations came in clear as a bell. I purchased the antenna here:
That looks good for a stubby setup. On my 96, I ended up putting the antenna on a switch when I installed my Kenwood head unit. I only extend the antenna when I listen to FM radio, which is basically never, pretty much stream music basically 100% of the time. But if I were to use FM majority of the time, I’d prolly go with a stubby setup after seeing yours, it looks good, particularly the black with the yellow.

I've been running one of those FM transmitter things and it works fine for my needs, but it got me thinking if it would still work with an antenna switch like you have, or if i pulled the fuse for the antenna. It uses an unused FM station so who knows. Something to test in 2026 after winter hibernation.
