Amplifier Self Install?
Should I even attempt to install an amplfier to my stock system? I have an old Soundstream Amp that I would like to use to power my newly bought JL Stealth Box. My local shops want to charge me an arm and a leg or make me buy a brand new amp. I would like to integrate in to my existing stereo. Is it a doable job by beginner and how many hours should it take?

Maybe an hour or so, if youre just mounting it in the rear exposed. Shops shouldn't charge more than $60 plus kit to do it. get a Walmart kit. 4 gauge.

Place near me want to charge $240. Or sell me a JL Audio 500/5 for $675. Where is the best place to mount unit. I wanted someplace safe. Like under my seat. Is that advisable? I am scared of getting it accident and my amp becoming projectile.

Will never be a projectile if it is securely mounted to a solid structure of the car PROPERLY. Want to see what i'm talking about check out my website and see my black beauty, you'll see what proper mount means. Put it where you can have it stealth or for show depending on your application. Make it suit your needs safety will be a byproduct of those needs. Trust me I know.
