should i by a new alt. mines rated at 105 amp. the rf 1500bd draws 90 amps with regular music, but i also have the kicker amp. will this be to much for the stock alt
when you're looking for one make sure you go by the idle output and not just the max, cause some hi-output alts end up putting out less amps at idle than a stock alt.

Re: new alt (pdd000)
Actually your alt is rated at 110 amps. As for getting a new alt? It wouldn't be a bad idea with the power you're going to be pumping. Anything from a 140 to 200 amp alt should be sufficient. Remember to upgrade the Big-3. By upgrade I mean add to stock wiring, not replace. ANL fuses will be a necessity as well for both the alt to battery wire and the battery to amp wire. With the amps you have I would run at least 2-gauge wire for all power and ground. An Optima Yellow Top battery would by worth getting also. Use the top posts to connect all your aftermarket wiring and the side mounts for your stock connections.
