Re: System Install in C5 Part2... PICS PICS (ICULUKN-C5)
Nah there wont be any room for the targa.
When I was first designing the box with my friend we were going to build it that way it was my choice. Then after me and 3 other friends got together they helped me to decide just to make the box bigger and not worry about the targe. If I roll somewhere Ill just leave it at home. :)
Re: System Install in C5 Part2... PICS PICS (eRiCdWoNg)
eRiCdWoNg, That sucks about your car man... Nah the cubby's are not used the middle one will hold 1 optima battery and im replacing the front battery with an optima too (yellow tops).
The box is made out of MDF so that's why the cubbys wented used for air space.
DNAST1, I used less than one box of dynamat for the rear. 1 box of the Xtreme dynamat = 36sq ft. I think I had 2 sheets left over. Not sure how many sq ft each sheet is would have to check the box again but a rough guess would say I used approx 25sq ft of this stuff.
Re: System Install in C5 Part2... PICS PICS (Black_C5)
the whole purpose of the yellow tops is so you can play it with the car off... So if that's not the case why spend the exta money on 2 yellows at all? Interstate makes great batts that are a lot cheaper.
for that matter, running a dual batt is a waste all together...
Re: System Install in C5 Part2... PICS PICS (Metal_Wulf)
The yellow top is a deep cycle battery meant for high current draw. Not just to be ran with the car off.. I have called and spoken to optima on this matter.
Running 2 batteries is definetly NOT a waste. With this much system nearly 2000 watts if I had one battery everytime the bass hit the lights would dim. This takes a heavy load on a regular battery and will kill it shortly. Thus the need for a Yellow tops deep cycling. By adding a second battery the system will not fade out like that there will be more power and the bass wont drop off.
Trust me I have spend hours of my own time and have gotten knowledge from many people who know ALOT about systems.
