Stereo Replacement
I have an 84 and the Bose Stereo is not working properly, channels dropping at will, static sometimes, etc. What is a good replacement with CD that will fit in the hole properly?

replace everything.
the channel drops are dying amps.
just about any DIN radio will fit. Metra makes a kit.
Run new wire to the speakers.
The bose system is so propriatary that there is little you're gonna do with it. The speakers are wack, 1 ohm, I think, the amps are wack... ick-poo.

Irecommend a good Sony Explode system, looks great in mine :auto:
I could not, with clear conscience, recommend the Xplode line of products.
They have a dubious reputation for durability and the sound quality ain't all that. They do hit hard, tho, but that is not enough for my ears.
Check my sig for the system in my Vette. It is not done... never will be more than likely... :D
There is a happy medium between Xplode and what I have...
as I said, run this thread over to the Audio section, you will get some very good additional advice.
